Barbara also taught 1-1, and held behavioural consultations, helping many clients with behaviour issues
Martin, too has had dogs throughout his life, owned a stud farm for many years, breeding, showing and judging horses.
Martin has also been the handler in showing their own retrievers in Spain, winning many cups and awards in their short showing career as youngsters, which can be seen displayed in reception. Running Hound Hall has now become a full-time job and s such, showing is now a happy memory.
Hound Hall is a place where all dogs can relax and chill, in a stress-free environment. Hours upon hours have been spent designing the build to enable comfort and enjoyment.
The rooms have under-floor heating to offer warmth, a fresh air system for health benefits, socialisation for stimulation, glass doors to enable viewing and create a light and airy atmosphere, televisions, pictures on the walls, curtains, and windows for natural light. No expense has been spared to maximise the enjoyment of the holiday and enjoy a stress-free holiday. Guests can watch the famous ´Dog Sitter´ dvd for entertainment, or on cold miserable days the dogs can lie on their warm floor, with a lovely log fire showing on their TV in the background. Playtime is an important factor and alongside toys, balls and retrieves, mental stimulation such as bacon flavoured bubbles are on the agenda or stuffed kongs and bones.
There is a large exercise area and paddock and even a play barn for those dogs who do not like rain! Hound Hall is literally a few steps from the main house, so we are on close by during the night. In the event of any problems, we will be on hand to attend and help.
Walks are given each day unless it is specified not to and all dogs are kept on lead when outside the premises. Security is an important factor and we are pleased to say that Hound Hall has CCTV security in order to monitor the dogs at all times. Fencing of 2 meters high gives added security and peace of mind around the play and exercise areas.
All dogs are individuals, different breeds, temperaments, ages etc., and all have unique requirements. We work with the individual dog to enable their stay to be as mentally stimulating, fun, and relaxing as can possibly be. One dog will want to have more exercise; another will want to relax more. Whatever your dog´s requirement, we will ensure that he receives it.
We invite you to bring any items with you that you feel will help your dog to settle. Although we have lovely beds and bedding, you are more than welcome to bring your own. Again, we have lots of toys but you are more than welcome to bring your own if you feel it will help your dog to settle.
